In 2015 IsVision was proud to sponsor Albert, Matt and Sarah on their charity fund raising trip from Potton, England to Mongolia.
In early 2014 an ex work colleague, Matt Givertz, told me about his plans to drive the route of the Mongol Rally. This starts in London and goes across to Ulan Bator in Mongolia. The actually rally itself is very tough to take part the competitors have to drive in a small old (although sometimes not so old) car and raise money for charity. Matt decided not to take part in the rally itself but instead still do the same route with extras added on and also visit some childrens homes on the way.
So in 2014 he purchased a 47 year old Morris Minor Traveller which he named Albert, just a tad younger than 60 year old Matt. Before he could take it on the trip, which would last 4-5 months, it needed a lot of work to convert it into a reliable mode of transport that would be able to cater with all the challenges ahead. Albert has his own blog and you can look at his transition here. Matt and Albert were joined by Sarah for the duration of the trip. They opened up the sponsorship pages and the aim was to raise money for a variety of charities.
I was there when they left on the 6th June 2015 and on their return on the 26th June.
It was a pleasure to support Albert, Matt and Sarah in raising money for various charities and you can view them here.
